The Great Gatsby

Don’t you just love the roaring twenties?

The perfect theme for a 40th birthday celebration!

Hand painted ruffles finished with bronze shimmer!

Lots of bronze ‘art deco’ detail, and the design wouldn’t have been complete without a feather!

Both tiers were Caramel Mud with white chocolate ganache.

Happy birthday Catherine!

‘ALC’ catch-up!

I have been rather lazy with my posts of late (sorry!)

so a little catch-up seemed like a good idea!

Enjoy!

Sweet little Christening cake for baby Fletcher.

A real show stopper in buttercream!

A ‘Moet’ themed tower of cupcakes for a 40th birthday celebration!

A delicious cake (enjoyed at home a few weeks ago) to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday.

The fabulous hydrangea blooms came from my friend Peta’s garden.  The autumn hues were an absolute delight!

All the best for a very ‘sweet’ day!

‘Catherine’

Vintage lace

ruffles

and pearls!

Saying good-bye to such ‘romance’ was not easy – a true beauty!

Congratulations to Catherine and Ben on the wonderful occasion of their wedding!

’007′ Style!

My husband’s 40th birthday…the perfect excuse for a small and intimate party!

It was ’007′ styling all the way!

Black and white with a touch of glitzy gold.

Vanilla cookies with ’007′ edible images.

The cake featured four different flavours.

Chocolate Mud with dark chocolate ganache.

White Chocolate Mud with white chocolate ganache.

Raspberry and Hazelnut with dark chocolate ganache.

Coconut with white chocolate ganache.

Some fortune cookies for good luck!

There was also a selection of Lindt Balls, Marshmallow Pops and sparkly meringues on offer!

We were also lucky enough to enjoy first class catering by M and B Food and Catering.

Here we all are before the party!

‘oo7′ with his ‘Mystery Woman’ and ‘Special Agents’!

Precious memories and a fun night!

Has anyone in your family celebrated their 40th recently?

As a mother of three boys, I enjoyed every inch of this very pretty Christening cake.

I always love pink and green together, but how do you like the over sized bow?

Girlie heaven!

The first and third tiers are traditional fruit cake with home made almond icing.

The second tier is chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache.

A special cake for a beautiful baby girl and lovely family!

Highlife Magazine Article

Highlife is a stunning magazine of international standard, based in Bowral in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales.

Last year I was privileged to work with the Highlife Creative Director Renee Bennett and Chief Photographer Tony Sheffield.

The result was an article titled ‘Tingles on the tastebuds’, as published in the February/March issue now on sale.

Within the article I share some of my best recipes and tips for creating your own dessert table at home.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on my first ‘real’ writing job.  Highlife have been kind enough to send me a PDF file of the article to share with my readers – click on the link below and enjoy!

Happy New Year – I have missed you!

It has been such a busy time with the boys over the school holidays, but a lovely time has been had!

2013 is shaping up to be a very busy year for me with a diary full of wedding bookings.

I look forward to sharing my creations with you, as well as a few surprises along the way!

I leave you now with my first cake of the year, which also made it through to the Daily Top 3 over at Cakes Decor – I was thrilled!

Tiffany Blue with a touch of ‘squiggle’

Another variation on my  ‘squiggle’ design….yay!

This time featuring ‘Tiffany Blue’ in ombre!

Two tiers (10″ and 8″) of triple layered chocolate mud cake with dark chocolate ganache.

A squiggle border and ruffle flower complete the design.

Loving these gorgeous colours!

Just look at those squiggles!

8″  and 6″ Triple layered Victoria Sponge in shades of blue with white chocolate ganache in between!

So in love with the gorgeous hues of blue featured in this cake.

I think it may be up there with one of my favourite designs!

Congratulations on your Christening Nicholas!
