A tall and elegant cake with a touch of mauve!

The bottom tier was chocolate mud with dark chocolate ganache.

The middle tier was decorated with a hand cut/piped lattice pattern and was White Chocolate Mud with white chocolate ganache.

The top tier in a matching piped pattern to the bottom tier, was White Chocolate Truffle Cake with white chocolate ganache.

Marcus and Tracey

Working with Marcus and Tracey on their wedding cake was an absolute pleasure!

They were after a classic design with vanilla buttercream and fresh flowers.

The bottom tier was coconut with lemon infused buttercream and the top tier was chocolate and mocha buttercream.

Gemma and Chris’s Dessert Table

It was a pleasure to plan and style a dessert table for Gemma and Chris’s wedding at Milton Park.

The star attraction on the table was the two tiered mauve ‘beauty’ by  Alison Lawson Cakes.

Bottom tier  - Vanilla infused Victoria Sponge with vanilla buttercream filling.

Top Tier – Chocolate and Orange cake with vanilla buttercream filling.

Gemma

The monogrammed cookies, also by Alison Lawson Cakes , added a stylish and personal touch to the table!

Swirly meringues are one of my favourite gluten free treats, and feature widely on all of my dessert tables.  Meringue takes on just about any colour, and  I think this was my first time swirling with ‘mauve’!

The cute  chalkboards made a very sweet addition to the table as dessert labels!

Gemma and Chris’s guests were truly spoiled with so many delicious offerings.  Other treats on the table by Gumnut Patisserie in Bowral included:

The top tier was also white chocolate  mud with white chocolate ganache.

Happy 70th Birthday!

It was an honour to make the birthday cake for my father-in-law’s recent 70th birthday celebration.

I thoroughly enjoyed making the edible catamaran, and other ‘sailing inspired’ decorations.

The rippled water effect on the top of the cake was hand painted.

The catamaran was even sailing at speed, as you can see by the wash!

On the inside, there was triple layered chocolate mud with dark chocolate ganache – a firm favourite in our family!
